Mariateresa Belvedere is a successful Milanese entrepreneur who has been working in the beauty and aesthetics sector for more than fifty years, with a direct and decisive manner. When she arrived in the village of Caprile di Biella in 1990, she was comforted by the feeling of nature’s dominance, breathing in the peaceful air, listening to the birds singing and the sound of the Caneglio stream. The few people she met in this small village were friendly and helpful. A greeting, a smile and some advice were given to her with kindness, without hesitation.

The place was in a state of total abandonment. Her brother-in-law Fernando did not know what to do with it and did not want to invest money to restore the house, which is why he gave it to her. Fortunately, with the help of her husband, she managed to restore it and realise her lifelong dream: the GIARDINO BELVEDERE MARIATERESA, which is constantly evolving and is now also a social and cultural project to restore the area and enhance and protect the environment.

Today, with her loyal team, they bring this unique and ever-changing place to life, open all year round, appealing to a love of nature and art. All her knowledge is entirely self-taught. Her early attempts taught her the essential basics that are guiding her, implementing careful planting to ensure a good start in life for young plants, as well as mulching to help protect and enrich the soil, facilitating the maintenance of flower beds, significantly reducing the growth of “weeds” and slowing down water evaporation.

It enlists the help of gardeners and sculptors specialising in creating works inspired by nature and animals. The Giardino Belvedere Mariateresa offers experiential guided tours suitable for people of all ages and backgrounds, school internships, sharing and exchanges, all accompanied by Mariateresa’s passion and enthusiasm for nature, botany, beauty, good living and well-being.
